Earlier this week, Treyarch debuted the new "Black Market" progression system within
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. It introduces a plethora of cosmetic items, which could seemingly be attained totally free of charge - that is if you're able to dedicate seven hours of each of the upcoming fifty days solely to
Call of Duty.
The Black Market consists of tiers, each time the player reaches a certain amount of XP from playing, they go up by one tier, then the next, etc. The maximum tier is two-hundred and rewards the player with a Blackout skin of Hudson (a character who featured in
Call of Duty: Black Ops and its sequel). It's almost certainly the most tantilising prize that the Black Market offers, but according to a new
Reddit post, it's also almost certainly impossible to attain.
DuvelMe, a frequenter of the
Black Ops 4-dedicated subreddit, recently calculated just how much time would be required to reach tier two-hundred. With the Black Market being available for the next fifty days, according to DuvelMe, you'd have to play for six hours and forty minutes for every single one of those days. That is way too long, DuvelMe thinks so, and it seems that
Black Ops 4 fans agree as the post quickly gained more than three-thousand upvotes.
The post read as such:
The amount of time it takes right now to go up a tier is way too much. I don’t know if it is time based or xp based but right now it seems like it would take you at least 10 games of TDM or KC to go up a tier. There’s only about 50 days to get to tier 200, which means that you’d have to go up about 4 tiers a day, that’s 40 games every single day. Let’s say every game lasts for about 10 minutes. that’d mean that i’d have to play 400 minutes or 6 hours and 40 minutes straight every single day just to reach tier 200. Please don’t tell me y’all are forcing people to buy their way to tier 200, that’d be garbage.
What do you think of the absurd amount of playtime required to reach tier two-hundred?
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is out now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
