Buckle up because
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's
Operation Grand Heist has officially arrived. The new season went live today on PlayStation 4 and with it comes a slew of new content, events, and updates that'll span the three pillars of
Black Ops 4 - Multiplayer, Blackout, and Zombies. While Operation Grand Heist does include free content, some of it will also be locked behind the Black Ops Pass.
Kicking things off today for Multiplayer is the arrival of the new Specialist, Outrider, who excels in silently taking down the enemies
"with explosive precision with her longbow, the Sparrow."
Her new Special Issue Equipment, the Hawk, is a pilotable drone that can be parked at strategic overwatch positions and will automatically tag enemies in its view to help you find and eliminate your prey. Her Sparrow Special Issue Weapon returns with a boost to its precision and power with accurate, explosive-tipped arrows that detonate on impact.
For Blackout, the new western-themed
Ghost Town point of interest has arrived, offering two new areas to explore. The aboveground portion is inspired by the
Standoff multiplayer map from
Black Ops 2, while the underlying caverns are inspired by the classic Zombies map
Buried. Blackout is also receiving the new mode, Hot Pursuit. Launching on February 22 for PS4 (with other platforms to follow), this new "fast-paced and frenetic" mode introduces three new vehicles - SUV, muscle car, and PBR assault boat -
"as squads race to supply drops placed around the map containing high-level armor, weapons and grenades to dominate their opponents."
Finally, for Zombies, today we get the new "Death-Con Five" Gauntlet, a new round-based challenge mode for the Classified map. The Ethereal Razor perk addition is also new and
"substantially increases a player's melee damage with area of effect and life re-gen for each hit."
And, of course, the Black Market has received a fresh batch of content. An all-new 100 Tier Contraband stream is available, offering three new earnable weapons, a new Blackout character, new Mastercraft Weapon, Reactive Camos, Epic Outfits, and more.
All of the abovementioned content will be free for
Black Ops 4; however, there's even more content available exclusively to Black Ops Pass owners on PS4 today. This includes access to the two maps
Casino and
Lockup, along with the new Blackout character, Cosmic Silverback.
-
Casino – A medium-sized map set in a luxurious casino in Monaco where elite thieves formed an elaborate plan to steal the winning racecars on display. Casino features high-intensity combat as players weave through buzzing slot-machines and topple across gambling tables. This wide-open space allows for long-range to mid-range combat with little protection from enemies.
-
Lockup – A medium-sized map set in a Los Angeles police station, Lockup was the site of an assault to destroy evidence that led to the headquarters of an organized crime syndicate. Fans can dominate the rooftop positions, bail out when cornered and tactically shut down areas with operational doors to gain the upper hand on their opponents.
-
Cosmic Silverback – Black Ops Pass owners will unlock this deadly Zombie silverback gorilla, an iconic fan-favorite boss originally from the Dead Ops Arcade from Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Call of Duty®: Black Ops 4's Operation Grand Heist marks the return of Outrider as a Specialist, two new destinations in Blackout, and more to come. Black Ops Pass holders gain access to 2 new MP maps and the exclusive Cosmic Silverback Blackout Character.
Beyond today, Treyarch plans to release additional content for all three core
Black Ops 4 modes throughout the season. Check out the roadmap, which includes a sneak peek at future content as well below. In March, Black Ops Pass owners will receive the
Ancient Evil Zombies experience.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. However, the
Operation Grand Heist content is currently only available on PlayStation 4, but will be coming to Xbox One and PC soon.
