Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches next week on October 25th, but those of you who like to be ahead of the game can go ahead and pre-load the upcoming blockbuster before it's officially released.
Today, Monday, October 21st, Black Ops 6 became available to pre-load on consoles and PC. Downloading the files ahead of time ensures that you can jump in and start playing the moment it launches rather than having to wait to download it on release day.
Looking to give players more control over their files, Activision has split Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone into separate downloads. Warzone, the free-to-play battle royale spin-off, is not automatically included in the default download for Black Ops 6. However, those who don't have Warzone installed can choose to download it alongside Black Ops 6. It can also be downloaded at any point after Black Ops 6 is installed.
Regarding Call of Duty's file size, Activision offers the following advice:
With Black Ops 6 on the way, Call of Duty will take up more space on your device if you choose to keep all of your previous content installed since a new game is being added on top of your existing files.
Prepare for the Black Ops 6 download and future Call of Duty updates by actively managing what you have installed. To free up additional space, you can remove content that you’re no longer playing, including full titles and individual modes (e.g. uninstalling single player once you’ve finished the Campaign).
Players can uninstall content within the Call of Duty user interface or via their platform’s install manager. After content is removed, you can reinstall it at any point if you wish to return to those games or modes in the future.
With pre-loading available today Activision also introduced a new UI for Call of Duty. The new interface includes three main hubs: Home, All Games, and Store. Each Call of Duty game you have installed will now be directly accessible through individual game tiles and have their own self-contained user interfaces. Some other tiles included a "Featured Tile" that showcases top content, a "What's Hot Row" that highlights new playlists, bundles, and more, and a "Last Played Tile" to give you quick access to what you played most recently.
The All Games section is your complete full library of Call of Duty games dating back to 2019's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. And lastly, the Store hub gives you direct access to the Call of Duty in-game store.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 officially launches on October 25. It will be available for Xbox and PlayStation consoles as well as PC.
