Call of Duty: Modern Warfare debuted back in September. Since then, the game has been perpetually updated with post-launch content updates. Currently, we're in the midst of the game's third season. The same goes for Call of Duty: Warzone — which shares content with and is largely connected to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare despite being a free-to-play game in and of itself.

However, the fourth season of post-launch content is right around the corner. In fact, the fourth season was set to kick off tomorrow (on June 3rd). That's no longer the case, though.

Yesterday, Sony PlayStation officially announced that their upcoming PlayStation 5 reveal event will no longer be going forward on June 4th as planned. Rather, the event has been indefinitely postponed on account of the #BlackLivesMatter protests that are currently enrapturing a lot of the United States. Click here to find out more about that.

Sony PlayStation don't want to detract from the message of the protests by pulling attention elsewhere. Well, Activision and Infinity Ward have parroted these sentiments. In a statement shared across Call of Duty social media accounts (via @CallofDuty), it's declared that "now is not the time."

The launch dates for the fourth season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone as well as the seventh season of Call of Duty: Mobile have been shifted. What's more, it's yet another indefinite delay — meaning that the new dates haven't yet been revealed. We will be sure to keep you updated and notify you as soon as the rescheduling is announced.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone are both out now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
