Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4 has finally arrived. The fourth season of post-launch content was originally going to launch on June 3rd; however, it was postponed as Infinity Ward, and Activision didn't want to detract attention from the #BlackLivesMatter protests that were mainly going on across the United States at the time.
Now, finally, Season 4 has kicked off. It's Patch Update 1.22 and will take up 32.5GB on PlayStation 4, 44.3GB on Xbox One, and 45GB on PC. That's right, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare continues to eat away at your storage with its enormous updates.
Anyway, what's new this time around? Well, we will begin with the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare side of things before delving into Call of Duty: Warzone. There are three new multiplayer maps, added at the beginning of this season.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
First of all, there's a remake of Scrapyard from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. That's a traditional multiplayer map, whereas Trench is one for Gunfight, and Barakett Promenade is for Ground War.
The new Battle Pass introduces a new Operator in Captain Price, who players will undoubtedly recognize from the campaign mode. There's a new SMG called the Fennec, which is similar to the Vector from the previous Call of Duty games, as well as a new assault rifle called the CR-56 AMAX. The tier-100 skin this time around is Captain Price with NVGs.
New modes coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare this season include Team Defender, All of Nothing, and One in the Chamber. However, it's said that the latter will be slightly different from how it has previously been portrayed in Call of Duty. We'll just have to wait to find out what that means.
Call of Duty: Warzone
Now onto Call of Duty: Warzone. There are new features in general, such as the "Fire Sale," which will see buy station items discounted by up to 80%. There's even a chance that you can also get one item entirely for free. "Jailbreak" will unleash all eliminated players back into the game regardless of whether they're spectating or in the Gulag.
Non-lethal supply choppers will fly overtop of the battle-royale map, carrying high-quality equipment. Players can bring these helicopters down to get their hands on the goods. Whenever a contract is completed, there's now a chance that a new one will drop called a "Contraband Contract." Delivering this contract to an extraction zone will unlock a new weapon Blueprint for your whole team.
Warzone Rumble is a new Call of Duty: Warzone mode, which apparently won't be available for very long — unless players take a particular liking to it. Instead of being put into teams of up to four, Warzone Rumble is an all-out 50v50 war. Other modes coming this season to Call of Duty: Warzone include Juggernaut Royale and Realism Warzone.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone are available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
