Call of Duty: Vanguard has officially been revealed and is set to release on November 5th. Following the teaser, Activision has released a full-fledged cinematic trailer along with details for this year's blockbuster shooter.
Call of Duty: Vanguard will return to World War II as players witness the "origins of Special Forces." The single player campaign will follow the adventures of four multinational heroes in an interweaving storyline that sets the stage for Special Forces as we know it to be today. The campaign will take across across four major theaters of WWII, including North Africa, the Eastern and Western fronts, and the Pacific.
While we didn't get many details regarding multiplayer, it was confirmed that Vanguard will launch with 20 maps available, including 16 built for core gameplay. Additionally, the game will have a Zombies mode with development led by Treyarch Studios. Vanguard Zombies wlil continue the Dark Aether story and continue to build upon the fan-favorite gameplay.
In addition to the main game's release, Call of Duty's battle royale game, Warzone, will also be updated with a new main map launching later this year. Additionally, a new PC anti-cheat system will be arriving alongside it. With the new map also comes a new Battle Pass.
Call of Duty: Vanguard will launch on November 5 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Cross-play, cross-progression, and cross-gen support will be available at launch.
Activision also confirmed that an Open Beta for Call of Duty: Vanguard will be coming and while we don't have a date yet, the publisher is giving out codes this weekend. Tuning into the 2021 Call of Duty League Championship final on Sunday, August 22 will give you the chance to earn a beta code drop. A total of 25,000 codes will be delivered and if you receive one, you'll get an extra code to share with a friend. The beta code drop begins at 11:30 a.m. PT.
