Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile officially releases this week and to celebrate the global launch, Activision is hosting a special in-game event.
Operation: Day Zero will kick off on March 22, the day after Warzone Mobile launches worldwide.
The event will feature six contested zones -- five for Verdanska and one for the entirety of Rebirth Island. Completing certain Event Actions within the corresponding zones will reward you with Event Points. These points are not only tracked toward individual rewards but are also added to a total community score to unlock Day Zero zones. A zone is cleared once players have collectively accumulated the required Community EP displayed in-game.
You can earn Event Points by playing any mode and completing any Event Action in a contested zone. Event Actions include eliminating enemy players, completing contracts, using killstreaks, landing headshots, purchasing items from Buy Stations, and opening Supply Boxes or Day Zero Supply Drops.
Individual rewards include things like the "Crimson Blaze" Emblem, "Nightmare Rift" Calling Card, "Demon's Claw" Combat Knife Weapon Blueprint, "Bloody Reaper" Ghost Operator and more. Community rewards, which are granted for clearing zones, include things like the "Gilded Devil King" Large Decal (Clear Zone 1), "Scored Beginnings" Animated Calling Card (Clear Zone 2), and more.
Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is a free-to-play battle royale first-person shooter with gameplay nearly identical to the game on consoles and PC. There are two main game modes: Battle Royale and Resurgence. Battle Royale features 120 max players per lobby, while Resurgence hosts a maximum of 48 players. Both offer the option to play Solo, Duos, Trios and Quads.
Like other battle royale games, the goal is to simply survive until the end and be the last man/team standing. As a toxic gas begins to cover the map, the safe area gradually shrinks, forcing players into close proximity.
Warzone Mobile will feature cross-progression with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0; however, it does not support cross-platform gaming with PC and consoles. So while you can't compete with other platforms, the progress you make in the Battle Pass will carry over between different platforms.
Operation: Day Zero is the first of many planned in-game events for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. There is an in-game events menu that will be updated weekly with tactical briefings and rewards you can receive -- Blueprints, Camos, etc. -- for completing these event challenges.
Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile launches on March 21. It will be free-to-play on iPhone and Android mobile devices.
