A patch released for Call of Duty: Warzone earlier this week made a controversial change to the game mode's contract system, replacing the normal Bounty Contract with something called a Most Wanted Contract. The change was met with immediate backlash by players and Infinity Ward was quick to respond.
A follow-up patch released yesterday removed Most Wanted Contracts and added Bounty Contracts back into the game. A few other changes were included as well, including a fix for Gunsmith Custom loadouts not appearing in matches and fixing a bug where players could get stuck during the infil while loading into a match.
The highlight, of course, is the return of Bounty Contracts. The short-lived Most Wanted Contracts were an interesting bounty as it would put a voluntary bounty on yourself for any squad to see you in Verdansk. If you survived, you could receive a redeployment for all of your fallent teammates. It was meant to be a very high risk, high reward bounty, but ultimately did not function that way. It game the hunted team entirely too much time to set up proper defenses and camp out the timer while setting up the hunters for ambush.
Perhaps it wouldn't have been so bad if Bounty Contracts remained in the game, but the fact that Most Wanted Contracts replaced them didn't sit well with players. In any case, that's all history now as Bounty Contracts are back in and Most Wanted Contracts are out. Infinity Ward didn't say if they'll return.
