Bungie has given us our first glimpse at what appears to be
Destiny 2's newest expansion, presumably arriving in Year 2 (sometime after September). Dubbed "Forsaken," the new expansion will probably be properly unveiled during
tomorrow's Destiny 2 Year 2 live stream. Check out the brief teaser below:
At first glance, the teaser appears to be just that, not really showing us much of anything. But as veteran Guardians can see, there's a lot to unpack here. For starters, Cayde-6 and a Guardian are arriving at a location that looks very much like the Reef, home of the Awoken race. The Reef was introduced as a second social space in
Destiny 1 and was heavily featured in the
House of Wolves and
Taken King expansions.
Additionally, the clip teases the Fallen house sigil as well as a weapon that looks very much like The Last Word, a six-shooter pistol from
Destiny 1, which also looks to make a comeback in the new expansion.
We'll get all of the details about the future of
Destiny 2 during tomorrow's live stream. Specifically, we'll hear from Communications Director DeeJ, Game Director Steve Cotton, and Project Lead Scott Taylor. The live stream begins tomorrow, June 5, at 9:00 a.m. Pacific. You can tune in on
Twitch.
