Destiny 2's competitive event, Iron Banner,
returns today, giving PvP enthusiasts a chance to compete for glory and gear. The game type is Clash, and the mode runs from now until the weekly reset.
That means you have until March 13 to play as much Crucible to unlock rewards, including new Season 2 Weapons as well as Iron Banner Armor Ornaments. There are three exclusive weapons that can be purchased from Lord Saladin at the Tower for Legendary Shards and Iron Banner Tokens: Jorum's Claw (pulse rifle), Orimund's Anvil (auto rifle), and Orewing's Maul (grenade launcher). These are available alongside a full set of armor for each class.
Additionally, this Iron Banner carries over the progress made during the previous event. This means if you weren’t able to finish off the challenges required to unlock all of your ornaments during the last event, your progress will carry over. To unlock these armor ornaments you must perform tasks like claiming rewards, defeating enemies, completing milestones, winning matches, and securing kills with grenades or melee attacks.
Bungie recently announced that with the upcoming 1.1.4 update, Iron Banner will revert back to the 6v6 team size of the first
Destiny. A number of other changes were detailed as well, so be sure to
read all about them here.
Destiny 2 Update 1.1.4 is due out on March 27, and will bring even more changes to the game's Crucible.
