Bethesda Softworks still hasn't released any official sales numbers for
Fallout 76's digital sales and retail sell-through during its launch period, but there might be nothing to share, as you can already buy the panned title with a steep discount. Bethesda is seemingly still believing in the video game, asking players to pay $30 for a Christmas-themed Santa suit in the recently updated
Fallout 76 Atom Shop.
It looks like Bethesda has finally realized that forcing players to pay more to get less is not the best way to promote the latest
Fallout game, as the newest gift may actually win the most hardcore players' hearts over. Bethesda will be providing every player who has played
Fallout 76 this year with a free copy of the beloved
Fallout Classic Edition, including those players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The collection comes bundled with all three of the franchise’s classic PC releases, including critically acclaimed
Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game, Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel, and finally
Fallout 2. The entitlement is expected to go live in early January, and it's pretty funny to see a company giving away free copies of games they didn't make as some sort of compensation for having to play
76.
Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of Skyrim and Fallout 4, welcome you to Fallout 76, the online prequel where every surviving human is a real person. Work together, or not, to survive. Under the threat of nuclear annihilation, you’ll experience the largest, most dynamic world ever created in the legendary Fallout universe.
Fallout 76 is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC NOW!
