FALLOUT 76 Will Be Getting New Mode Without PVP Restrictions In Early 2019

As 2018 draws to a close, Bethesda has offered fans a look ahead to 2019. This week’s Inside The Vault developer update reveals two key updates coming in the New Year.

The first is a patch slated for mid-January that will contain fixes for the Lever-Action Rifle reload animation and some perk cards. Additionally, Bethesda is implementing a fix for robots duplicating on the resort grounds of Whitespring to help address the crowd control issues.

Full patch notes for the update will be released at a later date. Bethesda also promises that starting in 2019, they will include some "brief thoughts" from the developers that provide insight into the changes they make and why.

Beyond the patch, Bethesda teased a new mode "where you can work together, or not, without PVP restrictions." Currently, the game takes a sort of a half-hearted approach to PvP, allowing you to shoot or engage other players you come across, but greatly reduces the damage done until the player returns fire. Presumably, this new mode will create a more dangerous Appalachia, one more realistic to what it would be like if the world really did suffer from a nuclear apocalypse.

"We’re already having fun playing it at the office and we’re hopeful to roll it out to all of you sometime in the first quarter of the year," Bethesda said.
