Ubisoft Montreal's
Far Cry: New Dawn is set 17 years after a global nuclear catastrophe you definitely witnessed if you've played
Far Cry 5. Between 2018 and 2035 Hope County has changed in many unexpected ways, as the post-apocalyptic world is now teeming with life and vibrant colors, following in
RAGE 2's footsteps that is also moving away from the established in culture vision of the end times.
The fact that
Far Cry: New Dawn takes place in Hope County gives Ubisoft a chance to recycle some of the assets they used to build
Far Cry 5. YouTuber user Cycu1 has shared a video comparison video that spotlights the difference between 2018's and 2035's Hope County, basically confirming that the world hasn't changed that much and Ubisoft is instead focusing on redesigning the huge map.
The well-known buildings and landmarks are not the only things that will return in New Dawn, as the player will interact with some members of
Far Cry 5's controversial cast, including the charismatic Pastor Jerome, who will help join you in your fight against The Twins, the leaders of the dangerous new threat the Highwaymen, who seek to take over the last remaining resources of this ruined world.
