Exciting Events Limited was not planning to have its three day festival stopped on the first day, much less receive a legal threat from Epic Games. Shaun Lord, Head of Exciting Events said:
"In response to the media frenzy, Epic Games... have now forced the shut down of the two pre-booked Fortnite Live events, with the immediate removal of all promotional communication from the public domain."
"These proceedings by Epic Games has had a catastrophic impact on the company's ability to trade, which has forced Exciting Events Limited to cease all trading activities immediately and the director of Exciting Events will now seek to limit the losses to third parties as far as possible."
We do not really know if Epic Games will continue with the lawsuit even after Exciting Events successfully cancelled its festival. What we do know is that the company’s assets will be distributed among creditors of the festival and turned into cash. Other funds will also be shared to people who received ticket cancellation emails before 10 a.m. on Sunday.
People were even claiming that the festival was not worth it at all to begin with. Skyhigh ticket prices, horrible attractions and long waiting lines out in the cold, with some people being able to get refunded that same day.
