Fortnite has taken a page out of the  Warframe playbook, introducing today the new Driftboard.

The new limited time item, which arrived with the v7.40 content update, is essentially a hoverboard. While riding, not only will you move at a faster speed, but you are also able to fire at enemies and use consumables. You're also able to loot and revive downed allies without having to get off the board. However, you are not able to build while riding.

The v7.40 content update also introduces two new limited time game modes for battle royale: "Driftin'" and "Catch!"

Driftin' pits two teams of 32 players against each other, removing all chest and ammo boxes and replacing them with random Red Supply Drops that fall across the map. Players will race to these drops - each one containing a Driftboard, weapons, and ammo - and then battle to eliminate the other team. The catch is that riding a Driftboard will slowly regenerate health and shields.

The second mode, Catch!, removes all guns. The only weapons in this mode are grenades and other items that can be thrown or tossed (Smoke Grenades, Clingers, Remote Explosives, Impulse Grenades, etc.). This mode allows for increase drop stack counts and increased Supply Drop and also features faster circle times.

The Driftboard is also available in both Creative Mode and Save the World.
