Epic Games has teased a new game mode coming to
Fortnite battle royale soon. The in-game message of the day highlights the the new Disco Domination limited time mode, which will be coming to the game soon - presumably with the game's next patch.
The description teases:
“Capture and defend Dance Floors around the island using emotes to earn points.”
This sounds like an intriguing spin on the popular capture-and-defend mode we see so often in other online games. We've previously seen weekly challenges that required players to work together by dancing on Dance Floors to raise a disco ball. It sounds like this will be similar. And it'll even serve as a nice way to show off your fancy cosmetic dance emotes in a place other than the starting island.
In addition to Disco Domination, players have discovered a new 50v50 mode hidden in the game files.
FNLeak found a folder for something called "Seize," which is also known as "Flag." Details regarding this alleged new mode are not revealed, but it sounds like some sort of capture the flag game mode, which would be absolutely nuts in a 50v50 sceneario.
Given the size of
Fortnite's map, it's unclear exactly how a CTF mode would work, so it's possible it could be a variation of it and play out kind of similar to the recent "Getaway" event, which saw players and squads fight over safes in order to acquire a jewel and then escape to a getaway van.
