Crossover events in Fortnite are becoming more commonplace but thus far the only superheroes we've seen in the battle royale game have come from Marvel. Well, that could change this week as dataminers have uncovered files alluding to a Batman crossover event.
Ahead of Batman Day, which falls on September 21, the game's latest update contains code and assets pertaining to Batman-themed skins. Among the files discovered include two Bat Weapons: the Explosive Batarang, which sticks to walls and explodes when an enemy is in proximity, and the Batman Grapnel Gun, which lets you pull yourself towards a target location and deploy the Bat Cape.
In addition to the weapons, the files also suggest that Tilted Town will be transformed into Gotham City. This will come with a number of challenges to complete, including lighting up different Bat Signals around the city and diffusing Joker gas canisters in different parts of the map.
It's unclear when this event will go live. Fortnite's weekly reset is on Thursday, but Batman Day is on Saturday, September 21.
