The third and presumably final teaser for
Fortnite's upcoming
Avengers: Endgame crossover event was teased by Epic Games earlier today.
Epic began teasing the highly anticipated tie-in event with an image on Monday that featured Captain America's shield. On Tuesday, Thor's Stormbreaker axe was teased. Naturally, the third image teases the last of the remaining trio of Avengers leaders with a
Fortnite character donning Iron Man's powerful gloves.
All of these teasers suggest that the battle royale game will be getting a special limited time mode in which players can wield the Avengers mighty powers and equipment. Last year, the Infinity War event introduced the Infinity Gauntlet, granting anyone who found it the ability to transform into Thanos along with special powers that ultimately had to be nerfed because they were too strong. It's possible that this event could introduce new gear inspired by Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man that also add additional abilities or powers into the mode.
Another possibility is that
Fortnite will finally be getting Marvel-inspired cosmetic items, such as themed character skins or emotes. The fact that multiple Avengers have been teased thus far could suggest that they will somehow be represented by an in-game item you can either purchase or unlock through in-game challenges..
Shortly after posting this image, Epic Games followed up with another tweet that confirmed update v8.50 will be coming tomorrow. Downtime will start at 5:00 a.m. ET.
Epic will most likely share patch notes for update v8.50 when the update drops tomorrow. At that point, the Avengers: Endgame event will finally have been revealed, so be sure to check back.
