Fortnite patch v6.01, the first update since the start of battle royale's Season 6, has arrived. With it comes the debut of the new Chiller trap, additional Playground custom options, and bug fixes.
The highlight of today's update is the Chiller trap which "applies icy feet to friends or foes, causing them to slide around with low friction." It seems this can be used either defensively as a quick getaway, or offensively to throw off your opponent's aim.
The Chiller trap can be placed on floors, walls, or ceilings. It's "common" rated and drops in stacks of three in Treasure Chests, Supply Drops, Vending Machines, Supply Llamas, and floor loot.
Today's update also adds more options to Playground, allowing you to change settings such as starting health, time of day, gravity, and more. The update brings improvements to the motion controls for the Switch "to make it feel more accurate and responsive." And finally, there are numerous bug fixes and gameplay tweaks which you can read all about in the patch notes
here.
