It's going to be a big week for
Fortnite. Season 7 of the incredibly popular battle royale game
begins on December 6, the same day that The Game Awards will be held, and show organizer Geoff Keighley has teased some sort of "world premiere" for the game.
Keighley has been dropping all sorts of nuggets on social media and today he teased that Epic's Donald Mustard will participate in the stream for some sort of "announcement and world premiere" for
Fortnite. He added that fans will want to "keep your game close," which suggests that something big will be happening in the game.
Nick Chester, a senior PR for Epic,
had a follow-up tweet confirming that the announcement and world premiere is not related to the Season 7 launch, although he didn't offer any additional hints.
Interestingly,
Avengers directors Joe and Anthony Russo will also be present at The Game Awards. Could the mysterious
Fortnite announcement be somehow related to the highly anticipated
Avengers 4 movie?
Fortnite is no stranger to crossovers with the cinematic blockbuster as the game previously added a Thanos-themed Infinity Gauntlet mode for a limited time earlier this year.
The Game Awards 2018 will be held on December 6, starting at 8:30 p.m. ET.
