The eagerly awaited Heavy Sniper Rifle has been added into
Fortnite Battle Royale with today's update, v5.21. The new weapon has been leaked for a while now, but today's update officially adds it into the mode with Epic confirming its "devastating" damage potential.
According to the patch notes, the Heavy Sniper Rifle can be found in Epic and Legendary variants from floor loot, chests, Supply Drops, and Vending Machines. Additionally, each shot deals 150157 damage to players with increased damage (1050/1100) to buildings. Additionally, the weapon has less bullet drop compared to other sniper rifles in the game. The trade-off, however, is a longer reload time.
In addition to the Heavy Sniper, today's update has also introduced two new Limited Time Modes: Soaring 50's and Sniper Shootout. Soaring 50's is a twist on the traditional 50v50 mode with an emphasis on mobility. Specifically, gliders can be re-deployed and there's an increase in spawn chance for Impulse Grenades, Bounce Pads, and Launch Pads. Sniper Shootout is exactly what it sounds like, a LTM focused on sniping skills.
For those who play Save the World, the alternative PvE mode has added the Weekly Horde Challenge - Bullet Proof Husks. Additionally, the new Constructor Machinist, Thora, has been added to the Event Store and will be available later tonight.
