Epic Games has released the final teaser ahead of
Fortnite Season 5 and it comes in the form of the single, ominous tagline: "Worlds Collide." The new season of
Fortnite's insanely popular Battle Royale mode will officially begin tomorrow, hopefully revealing once and for all the nature of these rifts.
The final image, teased on social media (below) features two of the game's recognizable rift cracks, suggesting two very different worlds are about to combine into one. The final reminder comes on the heels of two additional teaser images that featured
a kitsune mask and
an axe.
Unlike previous seasons, a lack of leaks and spoilers have kept much of Season 5's content a mystery. Although, many suspect - based on objects that have appeared within the game
(an anchor, carriage and dinosaur bones) - that Season 5 will deal with history or time travel. Regardless, we'll find out in just a few hours.
Season 5's patch will begin rolling out at 4:00 a.m. Eastern Time (0800 GMT) tomorrow, July 12. Patch notes will become available as soon as the downtime begins. The arrival of the new update means that any previous replays you have saved will be unplayable in the new build so be sure to export any last minute videos.
In a post
on Reddit, Epic warned fans that tomorrow's patch will be larger than usual due to the nature of the update (and all of the new content coming with Season 5). The download speed may be slower than usual as well, likely due to how many people will be downloading it.
"We cannot wait for you to hop in, explore and experience Season 5 and we’ll update you once downtime ends!" Epic said. As a reminder, this is your last chance to complete any Season 4 challenges in Battle Royale as well as the Blockbuster Event in Save the World. Playground LTM is also going away for improvements tomorrow.
