Nintendo and Blizzard were supposed to be holding a launch event ahead of the release of
Overwatch: Legendary Edition on the Nintendo Switch. The even was actually supposed to be held today at Nintendo's New York store, but yesterday Nintendo shared a tweet announcing that the event had been cancelled.
The launch event for
Overwatch: Legendary Announced was announced last week and — according to a tweet on the official Nintendo New York Twitter account — it was abruptly cancelled by Blizzard Entertainment, no less; Blizzard has yet to comment on this, however.
"
Please be aware that the previously announced Overwatch launch event scheduled for Wednesday," reads the tweet that Nintendo posted yesterday, while adding that the event at NintendoNYC had been cancelled by Blizzard. The company also apologised for any inconvenience that this may have caused to attendees.
The event would've seen
Overwatch voice actors meeting fans, which makes this whole thing even more disappointing for fans who were eagerly anticipating not only the release of the game, but also getting to know the voice actors of their favourite
Overwatch characters.
