During the recent BlizzCon event, Overwatch's game director Jeff Kaplan took to the stage to introduce us to the first-person-shooter's 29th hero: Ashe. We got an awesome cinematic which gave us insight into her story-ties and now, thanks to a new "developer update", we know more about how she plays in-game.
Kaplan explained that Ashe is now live on the PTR (Public Test Realm) servers and further went into her weaponary and B.O.B. (her Ultimate). Ashe's main weapon is her "Viper". The Viper is a semi-automatic rifle which sprays rapidly whilst hip-firing but can deal more damage, more precisely when aimed down sights - much like Widowmaker's sniper rifle.
Ashe also has another gun up her sleeve known as "The Coach Gun". It's a shotgun capable of pushing players away (much like Lucio's Sonic Blaster) but can also launch Ashe to higher ground (like Junkrat's bomb). Another abilities of Ashe's is "Dynamite," a throwable time-bomb which goes off after a certain amount of time - or, if you're impatient, shooting it will cause it to explode immediately.
And then there's B.O.B. - the Ultimate. B.O.B. will charge at enemies, catapulting them into the air, allowing Ashe to easily pick them off. B.O.B. can also serve as a Bastion-esque turret and whilst on the battlefield can be healed and nanoboosted by teammates. So Ashe's ult is essentially to turn the game from a six-versus-six to a seven-versus-six.
