Though Ana Amari was the first playable character addition to Overwatch, it's since been confirmed that Sombra is indeed on the way and there's another cryptic message to prove it. Over on the official Overwatch forums, a post which reads, “la que tiene la información; tiene el poder” (which is Spanish for "she who has the information, has the power") has been spotted. This is important becuase this message has previously shown up in other Sombra related teaser material.
Where things get interesting is when you click on the thread, which prompts the post to "glitch" and rearrange your screen into a block of programming code. PCGamesN decoded this message which turns out to be an ADCII skul that's identical to the one seen in an earlier Sombra tease. However, there's a slight difference between the earlier version, which the Overwatch Reddit community decoded to reveal that a caeser-23 cipher which possibly hints at Sombra being the 23rd playable character in Overwatch following Ana Amari's debut as the 22nd.
But that's not where things end. The secret message, contains a secret message which contains YET ANOTHER SECRET MESSAGE! The caeser-23 cipher unlocks a Spanish phrase which turns out to be a URL hidden on Blizzard's asset mirror which contains a video that references Ana Amari. The video's written description contained another clue, yet another URL to a fake TV show in the Overwatch universe which has a segment where you can email in questions to the show at "
[email protected]". Sending an email to this address gets yet more programming code sent back. Overwatch players are currently working through deciphering the code and we'll let you know when they complete the task.
It's cool to see Blizzard going to such lengths to craft out a backstory for a game that's 100% PvP. Their efforts have not gone unappreciated as the Blizzard player base continues to show steady growth, month-after-month.
