Last week at GDC, Bluehole unveiled
their new map for
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. Featuring a tropical theme, the new map is much smaller in size, measuring 4x4km, which should make for some very intense gameplay. And you'll be able to experience it for yourself starting next week.
Testing for the new map, officially referred to as "Codename: Savage," is slated to begin next week, the developer announced.
"We promised you that you would get a chance to try the new map very early on and we are delivering on that promise," Bluehole said.
"We haven’t released content so early in its development since our alpha testing stage. We’re doing this because we want to start getting your feedback as soon as possible and drive the development in the right direction."
The first testing window will run from April 2 (7pm PDT) until April 5 (4am PDT). Because it's such an early build of the map, the first test will be more limited in order to make sure that nothing is too broken. If all goes well, players can expect a bigger test to follow.
Unfortunately, we don't yet know how you can participate in this first test, but we'll be sure to let you know when it's announced.
