Respawn is going to be giving players the first few pieces of free downloadable content come next week on Wednesday, November 30th. The map is the loved Angel City map the first debuted in Titanfall. The inclusion of the map is a part of Angel City's Most Wanted, a name that is covering a slew of new things players can expect in the game, such as this map, a new pistol, a new execution for pilots, and a new kit for titans.
And surprisingly all of the content listed above is free, but Respawn is going to make some money in all of this. They like every other massive multiplayer focused game out there are going to start selling cosmetic items through an in-game store. The in-game store will sell skins, titans, and camouflage. But have no fear, as this won't make the game turn into a pay-to-win situation where you then have to start shelling out a few dollars here and there to progress further in the game. Respawn won't allow that to happen.
Respawn had some words that better described what they're going to be doing in terms of the in-game store, and the future plans they'll have for Titanfall 2 going forward.
"We will have no in-game currency exchange. No locked loot boxes, crafting shards or pay-to-win weaponry. No RNG. If you see something you like, you buy it and that’s it. These in no way effect stats and are purely cosmetic. We will have two Prime Titans available at launch. They have new chassis and assassinations but function the exact same way as their original counterparts.
Changing things up and trying out new ways to play is a big part of how we work here at Respawn. We’re carrying that philosophy over to multiplayer with semi-regular events that will change up rule sets on certain games, giving them a 'twist' to how you might normally play them. Changes like these force players (and ourselves) to look at the game differently and try some things you may never have tried before."
