Respawn Entertainment released their very first game back in 2014 and have quickly become one of the most notable developers in the industry.
Apex Legends is one of the biggest games right now — it was recently announced that the battle royale game hit 70 million worldwide players — and
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is one of the most anticipated.
However, the games that kicked off Respawn as a studio were
Titanfall and
Titanfall 2 — the latter of those had an overwhelmingly positive release back in 2016. Respawn were working on another
Titanfall game but it didn't get far before becoming what we know today as
Apex Legends.
Since then,
Respawn have iterated and reiterated that they don't have any plans for a third Titanfall game despite demand for one. However, Electronic Arts executive Blake Jorgensen recently stated that they won't forget about
Titanfall anytime soon, though it's not what Respawn are currently focused on.
"We really want to keep the team hyper-focused on Apex Legends. Can't give you a sense of if and when [Titanfall 3 will come]. We certainly won’t forget about it," said Jorgensen during EA's recent earnings call.
Respawn are currently too caught up with
Apex Legends as next year is set to be a major one for the battle royale game —
