Titanfall 2 was a fantastic game, but unfortunately it seems that there currently aren't any plans for a third instalment. With
Apex Legends blowing up as much as it has, it seems that battle-royale and
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order are all that Respawn Entertainment's attention is on at the moment (via
Comicbook.com).
The studio had two segments dedicated to them during EA Play, one which focused on their upcoming
Star Wars game and another which revealed information about Season 2 of
Apex Legends. During the latter of these presentations, Respawn mentioned that they are putting off any future
Titanfall projects in favour of supporting their popular battle-royale experience.
This is in line with what
the studio stated in April, wherein
they revealed that their planned
Titanfall sequel became
Apex Legends. You can read that statement below:
Lastly, regarding other games in development at Respawn, it is important to understand that there are entirely separate development teams working on Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Additionally, in order to fully support Apex Legends, we are pushing out plans for future Titanfall games. No resources from the Apex Legends team are being shifted to other titles in development here at the studio, nor are we pulling resources from the team working on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
