In an annual shareholder meeting this week, EA's chief financial officer Blake Jorgunsen said that
Titanfall 2 didn't meet the company's expectations, but still "
sold very well". It's rather hard to say what "
very well" possibly meant, but we know that their original prediction was selling around 10 million copies, which would be 3 million more than the first game's final score. Exact numbers are not available, but the industry analysts expected sales around 5-6 million.
Overall, EA's revenue over Q3 2017 will be 3% lower than the same period of 2016. Last year EA released the monstrous
Battelfield 1, and it doesn't look like
Battlefront II will repeat
B1's success.
EA still has confidence in Respawn Entertainment and
Titanfall 2, ensuring that the company will support the developer and their latest production for "
many, many years". Vince Zampella's studio is currently working on an untitled
Star Wars game.
Titanfall 2 is available on Playstation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows NOW!
