Massive Entertainment is once again the leading developer on
The Division series, but this time Ubisoft has decided to seriously support the developer. It's nothing new when it comes Ubisoft as the publisher likes to "outsource" certain parts of their game to different studios, for example, the naval battles in
Assassin's Creed III were desgined and made by the devs united in Ubiosft Shanghai.
While we're talking about
Assassin's Creed, it looks like
The Division 2 will be the biggest (at least when it comes to the number of people working on the game) Ubisoft's project since
AC III. According to GameReactor's sources "
close to the project", the game is being made by over 1,000 people. Ubisoft Nordic PR responded saying that "
this is "a rumour that they choose not to comment on".
What we do know from the press release is that
Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is being created in a collaboration between Massive and Ubisoft Annecy, Redstorm, Reflections, Bucharest and Ubisoft Shanghai. We still don't know a whole lot about the project, except that the game will be present at this year's E3 in June. Let's hope the rumored scale of
The Division 2 won't affect its final quality.
