MachineGames' Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus launched for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 27, 2017, and the players who checked it out agreed that the sequel is better than The New Order in almost every way, from more complicated and compelling narration, colorful and relatable characters, to the improved graphics and more satisfying shooting model.
According to Senior game designer at MachineGames Andreas Öjerfors, Wolfenstein 3 would give more freedom to players, both in where players can go and what we can do, meaning that the developer will choose the more open-world path. "Play freedom is for me, personally as a player and a developer, really interesting," Öjerfors said. "I personally want to continue going down that route."
"We would like to do something different," Öjerfors continued. "If we would continue down that route [Wolfenstein 3] we would play with the format a bit, do something that would interest us."
The game designer also praised working with Bethesda, the series publisher. "It's not cynical in we have to make the most commercially viable product. Bethesda believes if you make a great game, it will sell, and we believe in that." The company will showcase Fallout 76, Rage 2, The Elder Scrolls Online, and possibly even more during the upcoming E3. Bethesda's E3 press conference will take place on Sunday, June 10 at 6:30 pm PT.
