Last year's launch of Battlefield V was just the beginning of your journey through World War II as DICE has an ambitious plan to support their controversial shooter for quite some time with the inclusion of Tides of War, the premium pass-less live service that gives players access to new content released periodically, as this initiative is supposed to tell an overarching narrative, at least according to EA.

DICE has announced that the second chapter of Tides of War, titled Lightning Strikes, will be released next week. This expansion focuses on vehicle warfare and rapid infantry movement, "bringing to life the fear created by the Axis war machine through original content and challenges built around vehicle play." During the chapter, two modes will be added to BFV and revamped Rush is one of them.

Lighting Strikes will also feature Squad Conquest, where 16 players (two squads per team) will fight for map domination. That's not all, as Battlefield V is bringing co-op back in a major way with Combined Arms, in which you join forces with up to three friends to finish a series of explosive missions across several maps as you and your squad will fight against A.I. controlled players in various challenges.

The next step in BFV's evolution will also bring weekly events and rewards, along with chapter rank-up goodies. Be sure to take a look at Battlefield V: Lighting Strikes' short teaser trailer down below:
