Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is the next instalment in the long-running first-person shooter series. Each instalment generally features a new theme and it based in a different time period as well as introduces new and exciting things like new weaponry, killstreaks, maps, mode, and more. Well, here we are to talk about one of the latter.
Fireteam: Dirty Bomb is an all-new mode that will be introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. How does this new mode work? Well, Fireteam: Dirty Bomb involves up to forty players. These forty players are separated into teams of four, meaning that there are a total of ten teams — and thus the map is pretty large.
The overall objective is for teams to collect uranium deposits and detonate bombs. Not only do players have to locate the "Dirty Bombs" that are dropped throughout the map but they have to deliver their collected uranium to them. Once you've deposited your uranium, the bomb can promptly detonate and push your team towards the win.
But wait; there's more. Detonating bombs leads to radiation leaks across the map, meaning that some areas become hazardous to players. This affects perks, health, and more which makes Fireteam: Dirty Bomb a uniquely dynamic game mode. Treyarch and Activision have released a new trailer which shows off the mode. You can check that out below (via Call of Duty).
What's more, you can try out Fireteam: Dirty Bomb by participating in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's open beta weekend which is now live and will kick off on Xbox One and PC on October 17th — find out more on that here.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches on November 13th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
