After a quick return to the series' World War II roots, many fans have been wondering about the future of Call of Duty. This year, it's Treyarch's turn to release a new COD and their Black Ops III seemed like the definitive end of the trilogy which started back in 2010. According to the newest rumor, Activision is planning to continue the Black Ops series in the news installment, Black Ops IV.
Nintencity's Marc Sellars reports that Black Ops IV is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. Apparently, the game is set in the modern environment for the first time since 2013's Ghosts and, what will probably make the fans of the Modern Warfare trilogy happy, "is boots on the ground", meaning that you can forget about jetpacks and all that "advanced" and "infinite" equipment.
The Switch version would support DLC, HD Rumble, motion controls and is ported "by a company which is familiar with COD games". Considering last year's Modern Warfare Remastered, it's safe to say that Sellars means Raven Software, Infinity Ward, High Moon Studios, Beenox or Certain Affinity, the companies that worked, or produced the remaster. Time will tell if these revelations are true.
