Far Cry 5 has one-upped its predecessor,
Far Cry 4, in terms of sales and has become the fastest selling game in the franchise. According to Ubisoft, digital distribution accounted for more than 50 percent of the total sales, with a staggering $310 Million US Dollars through the first week since its release on the
27th of March.
The report goes into viewer stats and states that
Far Cry 5 has over 55,000 hours streamed by players on Twitch and YouTubers' videos earned more than 117 million views. These are both records for a Ubisoft title within the first week since release, which will keep players coming to the game and encourage newcomers to join the community.
President of Ubisoft for the Americas, Laurent Detoc, said that they are grateful to newcomers and fans of the series who have joined them in Hope County and have collectively grown their community.
