Ubisoft launched Tom Clancy's The Division on March 8, 2016. Since that time, more twenty million players registered and joined The Division, trying to save New York from the epidemic known as “The Dollar Bill Flu.” After the massive update 1.8 called Resistance in last December, which included a completely new area of the map, new PVP and PVE game modes, the player engagement has doubled.

That's just the beginning as Ubisoft has ambitious plans to celebrate the second anniversary of the game. The first global event, Outbreak (it seems that there are only so many ways you can name your free event) will last five days, starting on March 1. It introduces global modifiers such as increased headshot damage, draining health when enemies are close or instant kills from another Agents.

We are very proud of what we have achieved during these past 2 years. Listening and giving back to the community has always been our first objective and we would like to thank all The Division players for their valuable feedback and their support,” creative director Julian Gerighty said in a statement. We should learn more about the next events, Assault, Strike, and Ambush, soon.
