The second season of Square Enix's foam party shooter, Foamstars, is now live. Season 2, Groovy Disco, brings the funk in the form of a new character, new missions, limited-time events, and a mixture of free and premium cosmetic content.

Making his way to the foam party is Coiff Guy, a new Foamstar who can be aquired by all players for free as a Tier 31 reward through the Season Pass. If you don't want to wait, you can unlock him for free by purchasing the Premium Pass.

Coiff Guy is a "super-energetic wrestler" and "the most excitable person in Bath Vegas." Claiming to be a wrestling legend, Coiff Guy uses the power and physical techniques he's acquired in the ring to control the battlefield and dominate his opponents.

Season 2 also brings three new missions to help you dive deeper into the backstories of Foamstars. The mysterious dark Ramzey will appear as a boss battle in Mission 6.

Two limited-time season events also make their way into Ranked Play, where you'll compete in special matches to climb the ranks, from Bronze Star to Party Legend. Ranked Party Tribe-Vibe features teams of up to four members battling across multiple game modes. If you're more of a solo player, you can join the Ranked Party Lonestar, a competitive mode for solo players.

Not feeling the competitive nature of Foamstars? Join in on Extreme Party events which have now been increased to four hour bursts with only two hour rest periods. Two special themed modes have been added to the game, celebrating the newest Foamstar, Coiff Guy.

All Coiff Guy Party pits two teams of players against each other, with everyone playing as the same character, Coiff Guy. Teams battle to be the first to defeat opposing players 10 times.

There's also Super Duel Party, a fast-paced 1v1 arena battle. Going head-to-head with one other person, the first to defeat their rival five times wins.

And lastly, if you're just looking for more of a casual good time, there's Happy FriYAY Party. This stress free mode has no winners or losers, and even lets you preview and play as next season's new Foamstar, Chloe Noir.

Foamstar is available to purchase on PS4 and PS5 for $29.99 via the PlayStation Store. While there is a free cosmetic rewards track for this season, the premium season pass is available for an additional $5.99.

Released in February, Foamstars is a vibrant, over-the-top shooter that combines the fun of partying with the thrill of combat. Taking its cue from more family-friendly games like Splatoon, you use foam to attack, build, and defend.
