EA Sports appears to be gearing up for the announcement of College Football 27.
The official product page for EA Sports College Footbal 27 is now live with the developer promising an announcement coming soon. While there aren't any details at the moment, the product page teases:
Your next shot at college football glory is coming soon with EA SPORTS™ College Football 27. Add to your wishlist now so you don't miss updates on new features, announcements, and more.
This year's game is available for wishlist on both the Xbox and PlayStation store, seemingly confirming it won't be available on the Nintendo Switch 2 or PC. For what it's worth, the franchise has only been released on these two platforms, but with the improved Switch 2, there was hope that it could make the leap to Nintendo's console as well.
Neither storefronts have any details, but the Xbox page does have some placeholder key art. The Xbox page also confirms a "summer" release for the game, which isn't too surprising given that both EA Sports College Football 25 and College Football 26 both launched in July. We fully expect that College Football 27 will follow suit and also release in July.
What's a bit surprising is how long it has taken EA to reveal this year's game. College Football 25 was officially revealed in May 2024, two months prior to its July 19 launch, while College Football 26 was revealed on April 25 with a July 10 release date.
One would assume, based on the short history, that EA is gearing up to officially announce College Football 27, presumably with a July release date as well.
In terms of what we can expect for the reveal, it could be a teaser trailer, showcasing this year's cover athletes along with any gameplay improvements. This will likely be followed by in-depth developer diaries that dive into the specific game modes and improvements made in this year's game.
The CFB community has an extensive wishlist of improvements they want to see made, with most of it centering heavily on expanding the depth of Dynasty and Road to Glory modes, introducing deeper presentation layers, and refining gameplay mechanics.
For Dynasty, I'd personally love to see the ability to upgrade stadiums, especially for smaller programs as you help them grow. I'd also like to see the integration of true Name, Image, and Likeness payouts to better reflect the current college football landscape. Improvements to the coaching carousel (and new job offers) as well as allowing players to follow coaches who transfer to new schools would also be welcome.
As always, stay tuned as we anxiously await the official announcement for EA Sports College Football 27.
