The Early Hands-on and Development Summit was held in Tokyo last weekend, and Bandai Namco was there to give the press a demo of
God Eater 3. During the event, Namco also revealed which team is responsible for the development of the third chapter of the
God Eater saga, and while previous entries in the series were developed by Shift,
God Eater 3 is being developed by Marvelous’ First Studio.
Marvelous is the studio that gave us
Soul Sacrifice, an action-adventure video game published by Sony for PlayStation Vita. But you shouldn't be worried, as the game is in good hands. The game’s main staff includes Hiroshi Yoshimura and Yusuke Tomizawa who have worked on
God Eater: Resurrection and
Burst. Development Director Ittetsu Suzuki was also the development director on
Soul Sacrifice.
According to Gematsu, the event has featured an introduction from the staff to the characteristics of the new God Arcs and actions of God Eater 3 using the game’s latest development build, as well as the latest information on the series, including the God Eater: Resonant Ops smartphone game. Be sure to check out the latest God Eater 3 gameplay (which features the Heavy Moon God Arc, a semi-circular weapon that can extend for slashes) down below:
All of sudden, unknown life forms called “Oracle cells” begin their uncontrolled consumption of all life on Earth. Their ravenous appetite “devour” and remarkable adaptability earn them first dread, then awe, and finally the name “Aragami”. In the face of an enemy completely immune to conventional weapons, urban civilization collapses, and each day humanity is driven further and further toward extinction. One single ray of hope remains for humanity. Following the development of “God Arcs”—living weapons which incorporate Oracle cells—their wielders, the “God Eaters,” appear. In a world ravaged by mad gods, these “God Eaters” fight a desperate war... Create your character, and fight for the survival of human-kind in God Eater 3.
God Eater 3 will be released next year on PlayStation 4 and PC.
