MARVEL'S AVENGERS: Crystal Dynamics Studio Head Details The Game's Co-Operative "Warzones" Mode

Marvel's Avengers was revealed back during E3 2019. We got our first official look at gameplay last month and it was revealed that the singleplayer side of the game will take priority over the multiplayer side. However, the multiplayer side will be there nonetheless.

The highly anticipated game will mainly consist of a singleplayer campaign which can be played entirely offline but there's also some side missions that you're able to play co-operatively with your friends or other online players. There's no hero stacking which means that players will control an Avenger each.

Scot Amos, the studio head of Crystal Dynamics, recently discussed one of the multiplayer gamemodes over on the official PlayStation Blog. Amso detailed "Warzones," and explained that it's up to players how their team of Avengers tackle an objective.

“It’s a co-op experience where you’ll need to decide which role you want to play. For example, someone can take crowd control with Thor, while another player puts Iron Man into the air, or leads from the front with Hulk," the studio head explained.

Throughout the singleplayer campaign, you'll be able to level-up your heroes. This progression will carry over into the multiplayer side of things. Amos then explained that that the co-operative missions are built in such a way that both high-level and low-level players can team up together without things seeming unbalanced.

“We also wanted Warzones to be versatile enough that you can play as your levelled-up characters, with all the high-level perks and upgrades that you’ve earned, but still have lower-level friends join you. So we had to figure out how to dynamically scale the world so that if you have a low-level Hulk and super upgraded Thor, there’s still a way to play together and it won’t feel unbalanced.”

Marvel's Avengers is set to release on May 15th, 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC.
