Daybreak Game Company and WB Games' long-running free-to-play massively multiplayer online game, DC Universe Online is gearing up for its next episode. The World of Flashpoint expansion is set to launch on April 15 and is inspired by one of DC's most legendary storylines, Flashpoint.
Inspired by the popular DC storyline, players will encounter time-twisted versions of heroes, including Flashpoint Batman (Thomas Wayne, Bruce Wayne’s father), Emperor Aquaman, Flashpoint Wonder Woman. The synopsis teases an intriguing storyline in which players will have to set this twisted timeline right.
Atlantis and Themyscira are at war. A violent Batman embraces his darker side, seeking vengeance for his family while protecting a somehow-even-more-crime-riddled Flashpoint Gotham City. Your Super Hero or Super-Villain will experience the realities of this timeline and witness some of the most essential moments and challenges while striving to set things right.
Players will also be able to earn gear based on the villainous Heat Wave, a boss in the World of Flashpoint episode, and Doomsday, another villain players will face in the open world.
For those who are fans of the comics, the expansion draws inspiration from Flashpoint #1 - #5, Flashpoint: Batman - Knight of Vengeance #1 - #3, and Flashpoint: Wonder Woman and the Furies #1 - #3. But the Flashpoint storyline is just a small slice of the expansion, which will feature event-level versions of the content that's playable for characters that are level 15 and higher.
It's believed that most new players can reach level 15 in a week, which is perfect timing since there's over a week until World of Flashpoint releases on April 15.
