In September of 2018, Mojang announced Minecraft Dungeons as a brand-new game that borrows elements from dungeon crawlers and action-adventure games in a similar vein to Blizzard's critically acclaimed Diablo series, but with that particular Minecraft charm.
Minecraft Dungeons is definitely targetting a different demographic than the original Minecraft, but the developers have still guaranteed that this new action-adventure title measures up to the high standards they've already set for the Minecraft series as a whole.
In classic Minecraft fashion, Minecraft Dungeons will allow players to embark on adventures with up to three of their friends, or to take on the challenge all by themselves; it's up to the player.
Ever since the game was announced, Swedish developer Mojang — now renamed to Mojang Studios — reveled that Minecraft Dungeons would be releasing at some point in Spring of 2020. In fact, in March of this year the studio revealed that the game was originally expected to launch that same month but had to be delayed to the 26th of May due to Coronavirus concerns.
Well, today is the 26th of May and Minecraft Dungeons has finally become available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, and PC. For this reason, Mojang Studios has shared an action-packed gameplay trailer that shows players everything that this new title has to offer.
