Minecraft is one of the biggest video-games of all time, pulling in 90 million players every month. It's currently the second bestselling game of all time, only behind
Tetris. And it just reached its tenth birthday.
Surprisingly, as mentioned above, the game is still immensely populated despite essentially releasing a decade ago. Mojang continue to add new content to the sanbox game every couple months. The current version of
Minecraft is able to played on pretty much every modern platform, from your mobile phone to your Nintendo Switch to your PC and beyond.
Well now that the game has reached its tenth anniversary, Mojang (
@Minecraft) have decided to allow players to relive
Minecraft in its most basic form. The "Classic" version of
Minecraft can now be played by anyone, within your internet browser, for free. For those who have been playing since 2009, it'll act as one massive hit of nostalgia. It also exemplifies just how far the game has evolved in those ten years.

Minecraft Classic right now. Here's what the studio had to say about Minecraft reaching its ten year anniversary:
In just ten days, our little crafting game turns ten years old! That means Minecraft still isn't old enough to drive or run for president yet, but it is old enough for us to get all nostalgic... You can run Minecraft Classic in your browser and you'll soon see why. With just 32 blocks to build with, all the original bugs, and an interface only a mother could love, Minecraft 2009 is even more glorious than we remembered! You're in for a real treat, particularly if you're really into dyed wool.
