Last week,
Mojang announced that it will be up to players which Minecraft biome is updated next. Biomes are the various different types of environments and terrain that make up the overworld — desert, mountains, and savannah for instance.
On September 28th, Minecon Live will be taking place. During that event, players will be able to participate in a vote which will determine whether the swamp, mountains, or badlands are updated.
Ahead of this,
a video has been released which sees two developers of
Minecraft explain some of the stuff that come with each biome's update. The terrain of each of them will be remodelled and each of them will introduce a new mob to the game — frogs for swamp, goats for mountains, and vultures for badlands.
What's more, should swamp be decided upon, a boat containing a chest will be added to the game which will allow players to store treasures they've uncovered from the depths of the sea. The mountain update will make snow more similar to its real-life counterpart — seemingly meaning that players will have to wade through it. Badlands will also add new cacti and tumbleweeds.
Though all of the biomes will supposedly be updated at some point, be sure to tune into the livestream at 12pm ET on September 28th in order to paricipate in the poll and ensure that your choice of biome is updated first.
