2024 will be an exciting year for Final Fantasy XIV fans, Square Enix has announced that the fifth and latest expansion for the game titled Dawntrail will be arriving in the summer of 2024. They also made the announcement that the game will be coming out on Xbox in the spring of 2024.
As previously stated, the new expansion of Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail will release in the summer of next year. With new expansions and content, come new trailers! Check out the official trailer from Final Fantasy XIV's Youtube for the expansion below followed by more details of what players can expect in the game.
As shown in the trailer, the expansion is set to take place in Tural. The Dawntrail expansion will include a new hub city, new zones to explore, and new allied tribes to befriend.
Some of the new content that players can enjoy will come in the form of new Variant Dungeons, Deep Dungeon content, plus Alliance, Ultimate, and 8-player raids, which will be made available. There’ll also be a new update to the game's PvP, including an all-new map for the Frontline PvP mode. The level cap in the game will be raised to 100, and two new DPS jobs will be added, one of which will be a melee DPS class.
They will also add a new graphics update, along with new systems for the expansion that is also in the works. The free trial version of Final Fantasy XIV will be updated to include the Stormblood expansion.
Square Enix also announced on their Final Fantasy XIV Twitter page that the game would be expanding to be available to play on the Xbox Series X|S game consoles in the spring of 2024 after they do a public open beta test for the game on the Xbox platform during patch 6.5. They will be adding the Xbox console as an addition to the other playable platforms it is already available on, which are the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC and Mac computers.
