Volition's Red Faction Guerrilla was initially released for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 back in 2009. Set 50 years after the climactic events of the original Red Faction, Red Faction: Guerrilla allowed players to take the role of insurgent fighter Alec Mason with the newly re-established Red Faction movement as they battle for liberation of the Red Planet from the oppressive Earth Defense Force.
Red Faction Guerrilla will return in the ridiculously titled Re-Mars-tered edition on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 this summer. According to THQ Nordic (Nordic Entertainment), the remaster will feature "fully reworked graphics", improved "shadow rendering and lighting", "shader & postprocessing rework", and "native 4k support for the finest up to date mars destruction experience ever."
IGN, GameSpot, ACG and Many A True Nerd has had a chance to check out Re-Mars-tered's latest build and you take a look at their gameplay videos down below. The game still resolves around blowing stuff up in the most creative ways, thanks to the impressive destruction engine designed by Volition.
Set 50 years after the climactic events of the original Red Faction, Red Faction: Guerrilla allows players to take the role of an insurgent fighter with the newly re-established Red Faction movement as they battle for liberation from the oppressive Earth Defense Force. Red Faction: Guerrilla still defines the limits of destruction-based game-play with a huge open-world, fast-paced guerrilla-style combat, and true physics-based destruction.
Red Faction Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered will be available on July 3rd for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
