X-Play had Ian Stevens on last night. Ian is the Head of Game Production for Tigon Studios, the company behind Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena.

So what did we find out? First, Assault on Dark Athena is a continuation immediately following Escape from Butcher Bay. As Johns and Riddick are escaping Butcher Bay, their ship is captured by the Dark Athena.

The really good news? You can play the updated Escape from Butcher Bay, jump right to Dark Athena.

Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena

"This is the biggest game we have ever made. So Assault on Dark Athena is a brand-new, fully featured game, at least 10 hours in length, as big as the original game."

The REALLY good news? Assault on Dark Athena will includ multiplayer modes! One of the multiplayer modes mentioned during the interview was "Pitch Black", which pits Riddick against six other players, with no light. The six guys have flashlights, while Riddick can obviously see in the dark. "A melee brawl against a bunch of guys with guns."
