EA announced today its preliminary financial results for its third fiscal quarter that ended on December 31, 2018. While the company's stock is currently free-falling (its share price declined more than 10% on the news that it missed earnings guidance), there are some good news, especially if you're a fan of the Plants vs. Zombies and Need for Speed games as new entries in these series will hit stores before 2020.
Considering that 2017's Need for Speed: Payback turned out to be a small-scale Star Wars: Battlefront II with its insufferable loot boxes and unfinished gameplay mechanics, there's a small chance Ghost Games used that one-year break and extra time to make something that actually carries some weight.
As for Plants vs. Zombies, it looks like PopCap Games has been secretly developing the third entry in the Garden Warfare series for quite some time now. Back in March, Amazon's accidental listing of the Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare Volume 2 comic book confirmed that GW3 is on its way, so all we have to do now is patiently wait for EA PLAY 2019 to learn more about the future of both NFS and PvZ.
