A new Need for Speed game was announced as in the works earlier this year. According to EA, it would be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019. Yet we haven't heard any information about the game in ages and now we're entering the final third of the year.

Well, according to recent reports (via Comicbook.com); during their recent earnings and investors call, EA apparently stated that a brand new Need for Speed game will be revealed within the coming weeks — near Gamescom.

Essentially, we should expect the next Need for Speed game's reveal to take place in August. It could take place at Gamescom, but will more than likely take place just beforehand.

As mentioned above; other than that it will indeed be happening, we don't know anything about the next instalment. It could be a sequel to, the most recent entry in the series, Need for Speed Payback. However, given the poor reception to that game, it's more likely to be something new.
